About us

In 1983 a small choral group was founded in Storrington under the musical direction of Gill Venton, performed as the Community Choir.   In 1987 they joined with the Thakeham Singers and became the Sandgate Singers.   Since that time, the choir has gained in membership and musical stature.   Now under the directorship of Zoë Peate, the choir continues to go from strength to strength.

The Sandgate Singers perform at least three concerts at local venues each year: Spring, Summer and Winter, with music both secular and sacred.  Recent concert venues have included Our Lady of England Priory in Storrington and Arundel Cathedral.   In March 2007 we were joined by youngsters from Storrington First School.

We rehearse at Sullington Village Hall every Monday evening during term times at 7.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m.   No auditions required.   If you would like more information please contact Gill Ranson Chairman on 01798 813088 or just pay us a visit.   You will be warmly greeted.

We also have a small ladies choir called the 'Wedding Belles' who are available for weddings at Amberley Church. They have been singing at weddings at Amberley for approximately four years on a regular basis, week days and Saturdays.

'Offshoots' is another small mixed choir who are available to entertain pensioners clubs etc.

Our accompanist is Kate Burnett.
